Day 3 in the pool

The third day in the pool turned into an amazing finale when the girls smashed the Island Games record in the 4x100m freestyle relay and beat the Faroes by the narrowest of margins and in doing so became the first girls team to all swim sub minute. The atmosphere at the Medina centre was electric and a fitting end by winning gold. The team also recorded 4 silvers and 2 bronze.

Tom Gallichan swam an outstanding 100m freestyle to take silver and also a bronze in the backstroke. Charlotte Manning swam a very impressive 100m breaststroke to win silver and Emily Bashforth narrowly missed gold in the 50m freestyle and took silver in the 400m event of the same discipline. Lotte de Witte gave her all and took bronze in the 200m backstroke.

A great night for Jersey swimming.
