Tuesday in the pool

Swimming gained a further 6 medals in the pool, 3 silver and 3 bronze taking the tally to 14 medals halfway through the competition but are still looking for that elusive gold.  The first day saw Island Games history with every event being won in a new record.

The second day of competition was also to prove tough. Tom Gallichan won silver and bronze in the mens medley and 200m freestyle. Ebony Jacklin won silver in the 50m fly and Lotte de Wit won bronze in the 100m backstroke. The men did well to fend off the Shetland Islands to win bronze in the 4x50m medley relay while the girls narrowly missed out on gold in the 4x50m freestyle relay.
